Ersin Pertan Writer & Producer
Biography
Ersin began his career as a casting assistant for established casting director Bonnie Timmermann, with whom he worked on two projects for reputed producer Jerry Bruckheimer: PEARL HARBOR (Disney, dir: Michael Bay) and COYOTE UGLY (Disney, dir: David McNally).
During the casting of SPY GAME (Universal, dir: Tony Scott), he made the transition to feature film development for brothers Ridley & Tony Scott’s production company Scott Free. There, he gained first hand experience of the development and production of DOMINO (New Line Cinema, dir: Tony Scott) as well as several other projects, most notably KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (20th Century Fox, dir: Ridley Scott) and BLACK HAWK DOWN (Revolution Studios, dir: Ridley Scott).
Next, Ersin transitioned into legendary studio head-turned-producer Michael De Luca’s new company with a first look deal at Sony Pictures. His role at Michael De Luca Productions was to track remake opportunities and find original comic book properties, and this resulted in the development of Danish remake title BROTHERS. The project was adapted by David Benioff (TROY, THE 25th HOUR) and directed by Jim Sheridan (MY LEFT FOOT, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER), starring Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal & Natalie Portman.
Ersin’s first project as an independent producer is ALL MY CHILDREN, based on an anonymously written GQ Magazine article. The project is set up at Big Kid Pictures, director David Dobkin's (THE WEDDING CRASHERS) production company. He also has director Angel Gracia (FROM PRADA TO NADA) attached to direct LAST RIGHTS, a script by Ryne Pearson (KNOWING).
Currently, Ersin deals with client relations at Los-Angeles-based, reputable graphic design and advertising agency Iconisus. In his spare time, he consults on screenplays, the latest being 2010 Turkish blockbuster FIVE MINARETS IN NEW YORK (dir: Mahsun Kirmizigul).
Ersin is also a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in TV & Film. He likes Russian girls, but not broccoli.
