...the world cultures have gone through, ultimately they all ended up going back to their own source. The source is Mesopotamia, and Turkey is the most modern highlight of this ancient culture.
Turkey has everything cinema needs such as climate, geographical conditions, history and so on.
Cinema is needed to have peace between civilizations. The most appropriate place to achieve this is where two continents meet: Turkey.
A synergy of Asian and American or European people is possible by bringing them together on this bridge called Turkey.
Being on any bridge requires cooperation.
Balance is needed on a bridge. It is good to be on a bridge.
Turkey can become a bridge of peace. People in the film industry can make this possible.
Turkish film has been improving in two ways: Producer Films, and Director Films. Producer films are the ones influenced by American movies, they aim at forming an industry. Director films are the ones mostly influenced by European movies, they result as art house movies. In short, our cinema is in a rapid process of building its own identity and institutions. In order to have a unique film industry we need to have modern studios and creative people who are not trying to be something other than their selves. Turkey has everything cinema needs. An increase in smart Turkish politicians and cultural directors would be all that’s needed to bring it to perfection.
BKM is celebrating its seventh year and has made 4 movies since its establishment. A total of almost 15 million viewers have seen these movies in Turkey. The general goal is making films that are both good and entertaining. Our aim is making movies for the common culture of the world with good joint adventures. Recently, we have been in touch with companies from all over the world to be able to make this happen.
Stories are emerging. If we want them to, our stories can make us brothers.
